Oil seals

Hi John
Nice to hear from you.
Steve was down your way Phillip Island I believe. He didnt say how well he got on but I saw him at Snet in August getting a ride in. He said its nearly 3 years since he last raced.
I purchased a couple of crankshaft seals as I heard that his are really good with an open primary case. I have the codes written down now.
I really needed a set of his curved 34mm inlet manifolds for Amal Mk2 carbs & they are sweet but as you say expensive. Then again if I could make anything this good I would want my name on it!!!
I also got a cover & bearing for his clutch outrigger bearing system that I picked up a while ago.
I am slowley building up a 750 but accomplished nothing over the winter. I have the big bore maney alloy barrel MK3 engine but I think I would have to alter the engine plates & possible the exhaust which touches 750 primary cases. The extra length of the crank & the cases on a MK3 electric start engine might make it a no no.
I am going to Donnington for the Norton day which is on the friday of the classic race weekend, so might pop it in my 750 flat tracker & get a run out on the track friday. As its all set up with alternator etc I might as well use it.
Let me know if you are out this season.
all the best Chris Inlet manifolds are easy to make. I did my own ( sort of). I had a machinist make two cylindrical stubs that the carb rubbers went on and welded them to a pair of standard inlet stubs after I'd cut the ears off. Finally smoothed out the insides. Easy, cheap.

I ran 36mm Mk2s on it. Good for top end, but a bit flat below rpm.

Maney was at Phillip Island. I'm not surprised he didn't say how he did. My mate beat him riding a 500 Triumph against Maney's cc Norton ( did they make cc Nortons in the early 60s, which was the class he entered?)
