You absolutely can, but, current and capacity are a trade off. You cant have all the current rating AND all of the capacity so anything with a high current rating will have low capacity.

For a torch which is quite low drain, you want all the capacity, for run time.

The best/highest capacity cells have a rating of about -mAh. Anything which says it has more is horseshit, so look for a battery with a current rating of 8-10A and a capacity of ~mAh and you'll be golden.

Something based on a LG INRMJ1, Sanyo NCRGA or Samsung INR-35E will be the best you can get. Yes, the current draw is determined by what's attached, so you can always use batteries rated for a higher current draw than the device needs.

It's when it goes the other way you need to be cautious, so drawing 15A from a 10A rated battery is not advisible.

Those Molicel batteries are pretty good, so as long as you don't exceed the continous current rating you'll be fine. Normally torches and NV don't draw nearly as much current as a mod can. The button top contain an internal fuse equivalent. (they can be reset). Usually, capacity and max current actually increase together- cheap batteries simply have less working bits inside and are lighter. A non button top may not make proper contact, depending on the contact springs in your device. For a torch, the button top is probably the safest bet- you dont need to use more than ten amps. I don't mean to go off topic but a quick question, if your using a power pack on your zulus do you/can you still have a inserted and if by accident you lost power from the power pac would the battery take over instantly so the scope doesn't lose power? (Thats more than one question )
